- Before admission, all patients to be admitted are also required to conduct an additional on-site rapid antigen test (RAT) at the designated area of Union Hospital’s Emergency Medicine Centre.
- The admission will be arranged only after the negative test results are obtained.
- For all COVID-19 recovered patients who are going to be admitted to the Union Hospital, patients are required to possess a negative result or a certificate of Ct value ≥ 35 from the COVID-19 PCR test with the specimen taken on or after the 14th day from the confirmed date of COVID-19 (i.e. day 0).
- Out-patient services are only provided after the compulsory quarantine is completed and all medical surveillance required by the HKSAR government is passed.
- Only one pre-registered visitor is allowed per bed.
- The visitor must possess a negative result from COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Screening Test taken on the same day of visiting.
- All visitors are required to wear masks properly and should receive body temperature screening and disinfect their hands at the designated “Screening Station” before getting into the Hospital.
- Visitors requesting companion services at the delivery room and operating theatre must possess a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test with specimens taken within the previous day (counted by date) performed by a laboratory recognized by The Government of the HKSAR beforehand.
- For visitors visiting Intensive Care Unit, Renal Dialysis Centre and staying overnight as companions; The test is to be repeated every 2 or 7 days for recurrent visits.
The Emergency Medicine Centre of Union Hospital is one of the highlighted services. It provides 24-hour emergency medical services to patients. It has a Comprehensive Call system to enhance short response time for any disaster, high volume of attendance or emergencies. The centre is also catered for emergency procedures and minor surgeries.
The Emergency Medicine Centre also provides emergency support to COVID-19 patients who have mild symptoms, including doctor consultation and medication treatment. A telemedicine consultation can be provided for follow up cases with medication collection.
Union Hospital also provides health screening, diagnostic services and in-patient services. The Union Dental Centre provides dentistry services to patients too.
Inpatient
Clinic staff would reserve rooms for all inpatients before admission. All wards offer en-suite facilities, televisions, telephones, refrigerator, bathroom, wardrobes, nurse call systems and in-room dining service and electrically adjustable beds.
Union Hospital also provides counselling, laundry and translation services upon request of the patients, and extra costs would be charged for some of these services.
For mothers admitted in maternity wards, baby rooming-in service can be requested with an extra charge. Baby delivered in Union Hospital can join the Union Baby Club too.

Visitors may take the free shuttle bus from Tai Wai MTR Station Public Transport Interchange
near Exit B of Tai Wai MTR Station to Union Hospital. The shuttle bus stop locates at Tin Sam Street outside Wing Sam House and Fu Kin Street outside Wai Sam House.
