Which types of insurance can cover gastroscopy?

If a gastroscopy examination is conducted based on a written recommendation from a primary care doctor, the eligible outpatient consultation fees, medication costs, and examination fees are covered under Bowtie Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme. The claim process for Bowtie Voluntary Health Insurance is not complicated and follows these steps:

Completed and signed inpatient compensation claim form by the doctor.
Original hospital receipt.
All pathology reports.

How long does it take to receive compensation after applying?

The time required for each claim varies depending on the complexity of the case. Approximately 80%# of cases are processed within 10 working days, and the compensation amount is transferred to the claimant’s designated bank account within 3 working days after successful approval.

The response received was that it can take 1-2 years or even longer. However, this number should be taken as a reference only, as the specific time may vary depending on the patient’s condition. It is recommended to contact the hospital directly for more information.

Is hospitalization required for a gastroscopy?

Gastroscopy examinations can be performed in a hospital’s day center, allowing patients to be discharged on the same day without an overnight stay. However, there is also an option for a two-day, one-night hospital stay. The decision depends on the patient’s condition, and it is advisable to consult with the doctor for more details.
