Important Notice: Clarification on Unauthorized Promotional Messages

We recently discovered that unauthorized individuals have been sending SMS and social media messages to the public, inviting them to participate in a fabricated “app testing event” and apply for our insurance products with promises of cash incentives.

We want to clarify that these offers and activities were not authorized by us.

Zero Tolerance for Unauthorized Promotional Message

As an authorized insurer, Bowtie strictly adheres to all relevant regulatory requirements and prohibits any unauthorized rebates or misleading sales practices.

We take a zero-tolerance approach to such activities. We have immediately suspended our collaboration with the relevant partner and launched an investigation. We reserve the right to take legal action and pursue all available remedies against any parties disseminating misleading information or offering unauthorized incentives in the name of Bowtie Life Insurance Company.

Our Commitment to Treating Customers Fairly

Since these unauthorized parties may have misled customers into purchasing a policy based on false financial incentives, we want to ensure the affected customers have the full right to understand the product, and make an informed decision about their own coverage.

We are offering the following options to all affected customers:

Option 1: Cancel the policies and get a full refund 

If an affected customer purchased this policy primarily because of the misleading information, and no longer wish to proceed given this clarification, they are entitled to cancel the policies.

  • Affected customers, as well as all policyholders, are entitled to the 21-day Cooling-off Period.
  • Affected customers can cancel the policies within this period without any additional administrative charge.
  • Any premiums the affected customers have already paid will be fully refunded through their original payment method.

Option 2: Keep the policies

If the affected customers have reviewed our product details and believe the coverage is valuable to them, they are welcome to stay with Bowtie. Still, we do not want any customers to be financially disadvantaged because of the misleading information.

  • To ensure the affected customers are treated fairly, we will provide a special 12-month premium waiver to match the financial expectation that was set by these third parties.
  • The first month’s premium, which the affected customers have already paid, will be fully refunded through their original payment method.
  • The coverage of all policies, including the affected customers’, will remain fully valid and enforceable.

Our Action

We have identified the potential affected customers. Our Customer Service team will contact them directly to confirm their preference regarding the options above.
