Bowtie Corp Medical Insurance Product Upgrade 2026: New Benefits Overview

At Bowtie, we believe that group medical insurance should be more than just a safety net, but a daily health partner for your team. As we look toward 2026, the healthcare landscape continues to evolve with advancing medical technologies and rising costs. To ensure we can continue providing the high standard of protection and service that employees rely on, we are updating our Corp Medical Insurance Plans. The new arrangements will take effect upon renewal on or after 1 January 2026.

Product design philosophy

To keep pace with high global medical inflation and ensure sustainable, comprehensive coverage, we must make necessary structural adjustments. In designing these protections, Bowtie has incorporated recent health and medical trends, including mental health and preventive screening, to further promote wellness among corporate employees.

Key upgrades across our package plans

1. Introducing medical network with cashless doctor visits

Bowtie is officially introducing an outpatient medical network to our corporate medical insurance packages to streamline the clinic experience. Insured members of the Pro Care Series can now enjoy cashless medical services with HK$0 co-payment using our new e-medical card at a network doctor.

At the same time, the plan retains the flexibility of non-network outpatient coverage. Members can still choose their preferred doctors and clinics and get reimbursed afterwards based on the plan’s coverage limits with their medical receipts.

 

2. Expanded mental health support

As society places increasing importance on mental health, we have enhanced our coverage in this product upgrade. We have added coverage for psychiatric outpatient consultations and treatments, ranging from HK$500 to HK$800 per visit, to the Pro Bronze, Pro Silver, and Pro Gold plans, supporting your team in managing stress and mental health challenges.

 

3. Enhanced Hospital Cash benefits

We understand that the pressure of hospitalisation comes not only from medical bills but often accompanies unexpected living expenses and mental burdens. To support employees during difficult times, we have added two new Hospital Cash benefits for the Pro Care Series:

  • Accidental Confinement cash benefit: Provides a daily cash allowance of HK$500 for employees hospitalised due to accidental injury, subsidising miscellaneous expenses during their stay.
  • Cancer Confinement cash benefit: Fighting cancer is a long battle. We hope to alleviate the financial burden for employees undergoing cancer treatment that requires hospitalisation by providing an additional daily cash aid of HK$1,000.

 

4. More comprehensive health check-ups

We are upgrading all annual health check-up packages to enhance preventative care. New test items target common working-adult health risks like diabetes, early kidney changes, thyroid issues, and brain fog. A single, comprehensive check-up now offers more practical health indicators for early risk identification.

New check-up items include:

  • Renal Function Profile: Added eGFR (Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate), which assesses early kidney function changes more accurately than creatinine tests alone.
  • Diabetes Screening: In addition to Fasting Blood Glucose, we added HbA1c (Glycated Hemoglobin), reflecting average blood sugar control over the past 3 months to identify diabetes risk early.
  • Thyroid Function Test: A complete test panel including TSH, Free T4, and Free T3, helping to identify thyroid issues behind work fatigue and brain fog.
  • Other Key Indicators: Added Urine Analysis and Calcium Test to screen for urinary system health and basic bone metabolism respectively.

 

5. A more defined benefit structure for the future

To ensure the long-term competitiveness of our products, we are introducing sub-limits for specific surgical procedures and outpatient services to prevent abuse and safeguard our customers’ interests.

The new surgical sub-limits apply to Day Case Endoscopy and Day Case Viral Warts and Skin Lesion Procedures. All plan levels will feature a reimbursement cap for these items after the upgrade. Additionally, the outpatient coverage for the Pro Care Series now includes a specified annual allowance for certain outpatient services to ensure coverage remains sustainable and broadly available.

Premium adjustments

Bowtie adheres to transparency in product pricing. While we strive to lower costs through technology, rising medical service costs necessitate a premium adjustment for the Pro Care Series.

How can I find the list of network doctors?

Due to restrictions imposed by the ‘Code of Professional Conduct for Registered Medical Practitioners of Hong Kong’ and the ‘Code of Practice for Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioners in Hong Kong’, we can only allow group medical insured members to access the complete list of network doctors. After plan activation, insured members can log in to Bowtie’s online portal anytime to find the e-medical card and doctor list under their Bowtie Corp Medical Insurance policy details.

How do I use the e-medical card and network doctor services?

After plan activation, insured members can log in to Bowtie’s online portal anytime to find the e-medical card and doctor list under their Bowtie Corp Medical Insurance policy details. Upon arriving at a network doctor’s service location, simply present the e-medical card for registration to use the service.

Will existing customers whose policies have not yet expired be affected?

Not before renewal. The new arrangements and premiums for this product upgrade will only take effect upon your next renewal in the 2026 policy year. Coverage details and premiums for the current policy year remain unaffected.

Will the premium increase upon renewal?

In this product upgrade, the premiums for Bowtie Corp Medical Insurance Basic Bronze, Basic Silver, and Basic Gold plans remain unchanged. If you are a customer of the Pro Care Series, the new premiums will take effect starting from your next renewal.
