The Plan’s Deductible

If the plan has a deductible, it means you need to pay a portion of the medical expenses before the insurance covers the rest.

Higher deductible = Lower premium
If you have group medical coverage, it is recommended that you claim the group medical first to reduce the deductible burden.
Deductible plans are suitable for those who are with savings or want to save on premiums.

Primary Medical Needs

If you aim for “basic coverage” needs, consider:

Plans with lower coverage and sub-limits.
Plans with more stable long-term premium increases.
Suitable for common treatments (e.g., endoscopy, fractures).

If you aim for major illness protection, consider:

Plans with higher coverage and no sub-limits.

Preferred Ward level Level

While both Flexi Plan and Bowtie Pink offer various room class options, you must stay in a standard ward when using the specified medical packages to enjoy the HK$500 cash benefit and full reimbursement (applicable to Flexi Plan only).

Otherwise, claims will be subject to the benefit limits stated in your VHIS plan's benefit schedule.

You are entitled to an annual core health check-up. This core health check-up includes pre-check medical consultation and post-check report explanation. In addition to the core health check-up, you are also entitled to BowtiePoint¹, valued at HK$1500, which can be used to redeem designated optional health check items as recommended by the doctor.

2. Extra Dual Protection for Designated Medical Packages

Get 1) an HK$500 Cash Benefit² and 2) Full Cover³ _{(applicable to Flexi Plan customers only)} for the [249] designated “All-inclusive Fixed Price Medical Packages” and “Histotripsy treatment - Liver cancer treatment package”* of GHK.

The designated “All-inclusive Fixed Price Medical Packages” cover [11] specialties including Endoscopy, General Surgery, Cardiology / Cardiothoracic Procedures, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Interventional Radiology Procedures, etc. Each package includes the doctors’ fees, room charges and all other procedure-related standard items and drugs. The costs related to complications are also covered (including intensive care and re-operation charges).

💡Bowtie Pink already fully cover the costs of designated medical packages without utilizing the Wellness Package's benefits.



By presenting the page after logging into the Bowtie online platform that indicates your rider during a pre- surgery medical consultation, Bowtie and GHK will automatically take care of the pre-approval application in respect of the medical package(s) selected by you, and you can enjoy a seamless cashless discharge process.

3. Cashless Settlement Application Waiver⁴

Cashless settlement for all designated medical packages can be processed without needing you to submit any pre-approval application.⁴

By presenting the page after logging into the Bowtie online platform that indicates your rider during a pre- surgery medical consultation, the hospital will directly submit a pre-approval application in respect of the designated medical package(s) to Bowtie on your behalf. You do not need to handle any application paperwork yourself. Upon approval of the application, you can enjoy the convenience of being discharged without having to settle the bill.

Other hospitals are covered too! Treatments at non-designated hospitals or for non-designated medical packages will be reimbursed according to the VHIS Plan coverage details.

Renewal

Upon renewal, there shall be no re-underwriting. No additional rate of premium loading or case-based exclusions shall be imposed by reason of any change in the Insured Person's health conditions.
Upon renewal, we reserve the right to revise Policy Terms and Conditions, including the prevailing standard premium schedule.

Cooling-off Period

21 days

Within the cooling-off period, you may cancel the Plan and receive a full refund of premium

Policy Cancellation

You may request cancellation of the Plan by giving us at least 30 days prior notice.

^ When redeeming the optional health check items and when using the health check-up related services or the Designated Medical Packages at GHK, the Insured Person must agree to and be bound by the terms and conditions stipulated by GHK for such services and packages and other service terms and conditions of GHK.
¹BowtiePoint Program is not a cash reward plan. Under the Bowtie & GHK Wellness Package, BowtiePoint Program is only applicable for redemption of the “Optional Health Check Items" under the said package and it cannot be converted into cash, transferred, or accumulated for the next policy year.
²Cash Benefit applies to the use of Designated Medical Packages and is not subject to the annual or lifetime benefit limit (if applicable) of the Bowtie VHIS Flexi or Bowtie Pink VHIS.
³ Full reimbursement only applies to the fees of Designated Medical Packages and is subject to the annual and lifetime benefit limit of the Insured Person’s VHIS Flexi Plan or Bowtie Pink VHIS Plan. The deductible of Bowtie Pink is not covered. The Insured Person has to pay out of pocket to GHK directly for all the fees that have not been pre-approved by Bowtie before discharge.

If any additional expenses arise during this treatment, including complications, further surgeries, or intensive care, these costs will be covered according to the relevant VHIS benefit schedule. This arrangement will take effect from March 14, 2025, until further notice.*The coverage for the "Histotripsy Treatment - Liver Cancer Treatment Package" is an ex-gratia arrangement and it is subject to the annual and/or lifetime benefit limit and as well as the annual deductible (if applicable) of the relevant VHIS plan.
