Press Release Latest VHIS rider plan offers full reimbursement and annual health check
Hong Kong, 9 April 2021 – Bowtie Life Insurance Company (Bowtie) and Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong (Gleneagles) announced their partnership, introducing the first-ever “Medical Insurance + Wellness” Package (Bowtie & Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong Wellness Package) in Hong Kong. With the objective of providing a comprehensive healthcare experience to customers, this Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme (VHIS) rider plan (remarks 1) offers customers an affordable “Full Reimbursement (remarks 2)” premium medical package, combined with wellness services of their own choice.
Full reimbursement protection provides patients with peace of mind
Gleneagles is the first local private hospital that offers all-inclusive medical packages at fixed prices. Currently offering over 240 medical packages (remarks 3), Gleneagles is committed to providing quality private medical services with high fee transparency. The Hong Kong government launched VHIS in 2019, and has continuously encouraged private hospitals to offer similar medical packages to strengthen public confidence towards private medical services.
Sharing a vision of helping local citizens benefit from private medical services, this joint effort between Bowtie and Gleneagles has successfully combined medical packages with VHIS, providing a guaranteed full reimbursement to the medical package at an affordable price.
Additional free health check and optional wellness services
The “Medical Insurance + Wellness” package is now available for Bowtie’s VHIS Flexi Plan customers, with a monthly premium of HK$200 regardless of age and gender.
Three major features of the Bowtie & Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong Wellness Package:
- Full reimbursement for medical packages – A full reimbursement is guaranteed for diagnostic or surgical procedures conducted under over 240 selected medical packages (which cover all costs related to the procedures), disregarding co-payments or individual benefit limits. This ensures full transparency in payment to provide customers with greater certainty and affordability for health services.
- Health check-ups for peace of mind – Exclusive access to comprehensive (remarks 4) annual health check-ups, valued up to HK$2,720.
- Tailor-made wellness services – Annual healthcare services of customers’ own choice, including eye care scheme, nutritionist counselling and more. Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong and Gleneagles Medical Clinic Central provide advanced facilities and equipment that ensure the quality of service, catering to the medical and healthcare needs of Hong Kong Island citizens.
