Get Pre-Approval 5 Working Days in Advance!

To enjoy the “Cashless Hospitalization” service, the insured simply needs to apply for hospital admission pre-approval with Bowtie at least 5 working days ahead. Once approved, you can skip the discharge payment process altogether!

Which Medical Services Qualify for Cashless Hospitalization?

In-network hospital services can also enjoy “Cashless Hospitalization” coverage. However, keep in mind:

If the costs at discharge exceed the plan’s covered amount, the insured might need to cover the difference out of pocket!

Exclusions Do Not Qualify for Cashless Hospitalization

Of course, if the insured is hospitalized due to an excluded item, the insurance company won’t process the “Cashless Hospitalization” application. In that case, the insured will have to pay all hospital costs themselves.

5 Steps to Apply and Use Cashless Hospitalization Service

Here’s how to apply and use Bowtie’s “Cashless Hospitalization” service —just follow these 5 simple steps:

  1. Fill out the Pre-Approval Claim Form , and upload it to the Bowtie online platform or have the hospital submit it for you at least 5 working days before admission or the procedure
  2. After approval, Bowtie will notify you of the results (whether approved and the compensation amount) via email and text message, and send a Letter of Guarantee (LOG) to the hospital
  3. At registration, just inform the hospital that Bowtie has issued a Letter of Guarantee (LOG) for the patient, and provide:

    • Proof of identity
    • Admission or treatment dates
  4. After treatment, the hospital will submit the medical bills directly to Bowtie, and Bowtie will pay the approved medical expenses on your behalf
  5. If the medical expenses exceed the eligible compensation amount, you’ll need to pay the difference at discharge. Keep your receipt handy—you can claim the excess on the Bowtie online platform.
(If the expenses fall under exclusions, they won’t be covered)

Hey, if you face an emergency surgery and can’t get that 5-working-day advance application in, missing out on ‘pre-approval’, we’d recommend paying for the surgery upfront and claiming back afterwards. Our Bowtie claims team will fast-track the approval for you!

Each insurance company’s procedures vary, so it’s best to check with the specific company when applying for services.

Besides the ‘cashless hospitalization’ protection, when selecting medical insurance products, make sure to objectively compare the coverage of different options and thoroughly review the policy details to choose one that truly fits your needs!
