If your group medical plan raises premiums every renewal, is slow to add or remove employees, and quotes with no cost breakdown, the issue is likely in its design. The same cover can come with steadier premiums and simpler admin, so compare once before you decide.

It's fine if your current policy hasn't expired. You can register first, and a Bowtie specialist will follow up before your policy is due. Limited-time switching offer: complete the required steps to receive up to HK$800 in HKTVmall e-vouchers.
Enough time to compare plans, brief your team, and arrange the handover. Starting to look now doesn't mean deciding now.
An increase is usually a signal. Understand where the rise comes from, compare how other plans are priced, then decide.

Package Plan premiums take the wider customer pool into account, not just your company's claims record, keeping renewals steadier, though premiums may still be adjusted, for example due to medical inflation.
From enrolment to claims, we have dedicated specialists to handle your case one-to-one, so when there's a question, you reach a person directly.
Employees submit claims from their phone with no paper receipts to keep, which is one fewer source of complaints for HR.
New joiners can be covered from day one, leavers are removed instantly with premiums adjusted automatically, all self-served in the portal once the policy takes effect.
Switching doesn't have to mean the same cover again. Beyond core medical, Bowtie offers wellness and other health benefit options, so you can lift your team's overall benefits in one move.
Ask whether renewal premiums are based on your own company's claims record, or on the insurer's whole customer base. The former rises when claims rise; the latter tends to move less. This directly affects how stable your budget is over the next few years.
Many plans show a high total limit, but each item inside (surgery, room, diagnostics) has its own cap. Some also require a co-payment, where employees pay a share of each claim themselves. When comparing cover, check both, not just the overall total. Also check the exclusions and any waiting periods, such as how pre-existing conditions are treated.
Some plans require employees to see doctors within a set network for full reimbursement. Check whether the doctors your employees already use are in-network, since it directly shapes their experience.
Ask how member list updates are handled. Can you add or remove members yourself online, or does every change go through a paper form and an intermediary? Joiners and leavers happen every month, so a slow process quickly adds up for HR.
Check whether employees can submit claims on their phone or need paper forms and original receipts, and how long approval usually takes. Claims are where employees feel the plan most directly, and how quickly they're settled shapes how employees see their benefits.
Is there hidden commission? Can you actually understand the terms? Plans with low transparency tend to surface problems only at renewal or claim time.
The point most easily overlooked. To avoid a gap in cover, the new policy should take effect as soon as your current one ends. Check whether you can choose the new policy's start date to match, and confirm your team meets the new plan's eligibility requirements.

It's straightforward. A Bowtie specialist follows up one-to-one throughout from quote, cover walkthrough, application, and coordinating old and new policy dates. At application, you can choose when your Bowtie policy takes effect to match your current renewal date, to avoid a gap in cover.
Start by assessing whether your current plan still fits your team: look at employee feedback, actual claims records, and market benefit trends. When comparing plans, check whether premiums are based on your own claims record or a wider customer pool, any sub-limits or co-payments, network restrictions, how long member changes and claims take, how transparent the pricing and terms are, and how the old and new policies line up to avoid a gap in cover.
A minimum of 3 employees. Both full-time and part-time employees can be included, and premiums are billed monthly.
Yes. You can register first, and a Bowtie specialist will contact you at the right time before your policy expires to arrange a seamless switch, so you don't have to decide now.
Medical inflation is one of the main drivers of rising premiums. How much a plan moves also depends on its structure: a tailor-made plan has its own risk pool, while a standard Package Plan pools risk more broadly, which tends to make premiums steadier.
Over the past year, things may have changed both within your company and with your current insurer. Your business may have grown, giving you room to improve employee medical benefits; employees may have said the current cover falls short; or your insurer may have updated its products based on risk factors, or raised premiums sharply beyond your budget. These are all common reasons to consider switching insurers.
Group medical insurance renews every year, and the 2 to 3 months before renewal are a good time to review your current policy. Your insurer may also propose changes to the policy terms or premium when it expires, so it's best to be prepared for possible changes at renewal.
Yes. An employee's spouse (aged 75 or below) and children (15 days to 25 years, with those 18–25 in full-time study) can join the same plan at a uniform per-member premium.
Once the company policy is in effect, HR adds the new member on the employer portal and coverage can be activated in as little as 5 minutes^.
HR removes the member on the employer portal and their cover ends immediately. The premium is adjusted on a pro-rata basis at the end of the policy year. A departing employee who wants to stay covered would need to take out individual medical insurance.
Members can be added or removed on the portal at any time. A new member's premium is pro-rated from their join date to the policy anniversary, and any difference is charged or refunded in one go at the end of the policy year.
Group medical premiums paid by an employer are an employee-benefit expense incurred in running the business, and can generally be treated as an operating cost and claimed as a deductible expense for profits tax. The deductible amount depends on the company's finances and the Inland Revenue Ordinance. Consult your accountant or tax advisor; the Inland Revenue Department's final assessment prevails.
