With more than 1,000 COVID-19 infections for the first time, we’re facing the worst wave of infections in Hong Kong. We have observed an immediate tightening of COVID restrictions, followed by a surging demand for at-home COVID-19 tests. Therefore, Bowtie is expanding our coverage to the COVID-19 test.
Details of Bowtie COVID-19 Test Coverage
During the benefit period, each insured person of Bowtie VHIS Plan, Bowtie Term Life, Bowtie Critical Illness, Bowtie Cancer Fighter and Bowtie Touchwood Protector (existing and new customers) can enjoy a reimbursement up to $100 for COVID-19 rapid test, with a maximum of two tests⁺, whether or not the test is medically necessary.
All COVID-19 rapid tests purchased or performed within the promotion period are eligible for reimbursement, including rapid antigen and nucleic acid amplification tests. The reimbursement is not limited to brands/medical institutions. Check out the example below:

- You must be a policyholder of Bowtie VHIS Plan, Bowtie Term Life, Bowtie Critical Illness, Bowtie Cancer Fighter or Bowtie Touch Wood Protector at the time when you purchase the rapid antigen test or nucleic acid amplification tests for COVID-19 (collectively “COVID-19 test”) and submit the claims of COVID-19 test.
- Your tests must be purchased / done on or after February 11, 2022. All claims must be submitted on or before April 30, 2022.
- You must declare that the COVID-19 test were purchased for personal diagnostic use (for the insured person of your Bowtie policy), which have not been and will not be reimbursed by another source, and are not for resale.
- You must include all original receipts or online proof of purchase in order for your claim to process, with the following information clearly shown on it: Date of Purchase, Price of Purchase, Name of the COVID-19 Test
- Bowtie reserves the right to suspend or terminate the offer and / or amend the terms and conditions of this Covid-19 test benefit at any time without prior notice. In case of any dispute, the decision of Bowtie shall be final.
